US Embassy Flood Relief: Helicopters, Aircraft and $228,135

On February 25th, the US Embassy in Bolivia announced that it had authorized Bolivia to use several US C-130 aircraft and helicopters for humanitarian aid to flood victims in recent weeks. The aircraft had formerly been used on anti-narcotics flights. The embassy released a statement saying that since January it had lent its aircraft for 16 humanitarian missions in Bolivia. The embassy stated, “The support given to foster these missions has reached $228,135. The US Embassy in Bolivia manifests its permanent resolve to help the government of Bolivia to work together on these labors of humanitarian assistance.”
