Lawsuit Begins Against Government & Aymarás For 4 Police Lynchings

On Tuesday, June 22nd the legal suit against Government Minister Sacha Llorenti, the commander of the national police Oscar Nina and the leaders of the Potosí and Oruro police an four Aymará Ayllus began in the Public Ministry in La Paz. The case involves the lynching of four policemen by Aymará Ayllus and the government’s perceived inaction to bring anyone to justice for the lynchings. The plaintiffs in the case are two senators from the Unidad Nacional party Jaime Rolando Navarro Tardío y Elizabeth Reyes Limpias.  La Paz district prosecutor Williams Davila explained that the senators are suing the “Aymará Ayllus for murder, and various officials for dereliction of duty, public instigation, and other crimes.”
