The government run food company, Insumos Bolivia was will be fined by the national revenue and tax service (SIN) for tax evasion and for failing to pay sales tax (offer facturas) on its food sales. SIN´s president Roberto Ugarte said only, ¨There will be a fine¨ but did not comment on the amount.  Ugarte also said that this might not be the only violation Insumos Bolivia has commited.  An Insumos Bolivia spokesperson downplayed the situation saying, ¨What happened is that Insumos Bolivia has had a few difficulties in distributing its sales tax forms in a few trucks that were selling products, it´s just a lack of coordination.¨  Ugarte also said that the other state run food company, EMAPA may also be illegally evading sales taxes.
