On June 8th President Evo Morales’ sister formally denounced attacks on her house and death threats she and her children to a judge that she received last Saturday by an angry mob outside her home in Oruro. The mob attacked her house after four policemen were lynched in the Potosí municipality of Uncía. “I have never in my life had these kinds of threats or heard these kinds of insults. I truly don’t understand it and it is totally coming from the political opposition (to Evo’s MAS party) because some friends told me that they (the opposition) had organized a march to end here.” Esther said that she received threats that her children were going to be killed and their eyeballs cut out. Esther said that she has lived in Oruro for twelve years and said her neighbors can affirm that she’s never had any problems. “I have my little store and my friends know me very well, I never fight with anyone.”
