Posted: Mikaela on Apr 27 | Education & Youth

Dancers, demons, orators and singers graced the stage at the sixth annual Children’s Talent Festival in the Mallasa precinct in the southern part of La Paz. The event was in celebration of the Day of the Child (April 12th).

The secretary general of the precinct said that the purpose of the contest was to discover the artistic abilities of the youths, “We want parents to realize that their children have talents that they should cultivate.”

Though the program was planned for 30 contestants, they accepted 45 before turning latecomers away. Changes this year included the addition of a new category for “special children” that allowed the participation of the littlest ones from the children’s homes in La Paz. A group from the Centro Infantil de Belen de San Jose de Mallasa sang the Song of the Frog.

The judges’ panel consisted of artists from the precinct who judged the entrants on creativity and interpretation. The names of the fifteen winners will be released today.
