Prosecutor Felix Peralta told Red Erbol that a recent report from Bolivia’s Financial Investigation Unit (UIF) names various companies and individuals that received funding under suspicious circumstances. “We have become aware of various names of private individuals that they [prior governments] had given money to without any justification or accounting; the name Julio Terrazas appears and that is subject to confirmation that it is the Cardenal, also Mr. Waldo Albarracín”, said Peralta. Peralta said that those named in the report are being called in to testify before a prosecutor to explain why they received government slush funds. “All these people will have to appear to tell us why they have received these funds, because we’re talking about Mr. Waldo Albarracín having received 150,000 bolivianos ($21,428) and Julio Terrazas 115,000 bolivianos ($16,428)”, explained Peralta.
