I followed the links you provided, and remain unconvinced about innocence or guilt. One thing was very clear though, and cuts directly through all of the questions and accusations. Arpad was clearly a man making his own decisions about what he would do and with whom he would do it--and in this case he chose wrong, and it cost him his life. Whether he was a part of the team of assassins, or simply a non-participatory friend visiting, he had to know what was going on in that group, and chose to not leave it. He thus became a part of it. I have no doubt the group was hired to assassinate Evo Morales by people including the now-on-the-run Branko Marinkovic, with the net being drawn in on the rest.
