« Lawmakers Propose New Anti-Discrimination Legislation | Home | Drivers Hunger-Strike & Blockade Against New Anti-Drunk Driving Law » Bolivia Offers Aid for Chile EarthquakePosted: admin on Feb 27 | Environment, International The Bolivian Chancellery has issued a statement expressing solidarity for Chile after a massive 8.8 magnitude quake struck near Concepcion this morning that said, “The Bolivian Foreign Relations Ministry express at this difficult time for Chile, its disposition to offer all possible aid to the Chilean authorities and collaboration that this terrible earthquake requires. We express solidarity with our sister republic of Chilean and offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of the dozens of people who have died as a consequence of this natural disaster.” There are 150 dead so far and many more are likely as teams begins to search through the rubble throughout southern Chile. The epicenter of the quake was in a rural area some 115 kilometers from Concepcion, Chile’s second largest city of 200,000 people where damage has been widespread. |
