On March 7th the Movement to Socialism (MAS) party candidate for governor of the State of Beni, 25 year old Bolivian-British supermodel Jessica Jordan said that if she wins the April 4th elections she will institute “a transport revolution”.  Jordan said, “If I become governor I will demand from the President that he accelerate the transport revolution because it’s just unthinkable that Beni has just 200 kilometers of paved roads.” Jordan outlined that her region has been held back by corrupt and inefficient leadership. Jordan was voted miss Bolivia in 2006 declared herself to be an enemy of poverty and inefficiency who will shake things up in Beni politics. Jordan blasted for authorities for failing to build a modern hospital in Beni and said she would facilitate the senior citizens social security payments called “Bono Dignidad”.  Jordan said, “We will obtain a mutli-purpose helicopter to offer health services in natural disaster such as floods which affect my department annually.” Jordan said she wanted gender equality in state institutions much as President Morales has created in his cabinet. Jordan lamented that in Beni there are just 700 police officers for 400,000 inhabitants.
