Posted: admin on Mar 08 | Transportation, Travel & Tourism

On march 8th, 71 people were injured when a bus overloaded with morning commuters traveling from El Alto to La Paz had a brake failure and accelerated until the driver lost control in the gardens behind the Centro Piloto de Salud and the bus rolled over so hard that its back wheels broke off and the carraige was destroyed. The accident occured at 8:30 in the morning and despite many life-threatening injuries for which many of the 71 are hospitalized, nobody has died yet. The bus was a regular commuter bus from El Alto to La Paz from line 54 of the Simón Bolívar Union with license plate 204-DYP. “I think that the brakes broke on route because from the altitude of the Pedro Domingo Murillo school our speed increased a lot to the level of the former Forno factory until the Vásquez avenue in the right lane until we got to the gardens are rolled two times, I was in the back seats,” said a surviving passenger. The crash impact left the area littered with bus seats.
